Extracts: This is the story of a happy and successful expedition told by two well known ornithologists, who have been bird-watching together since they were little boys. Peter Scott, famous son of a famous father, is distinguished not only for his unique knowledge of geese, his Directorship of the Seven Wildfowl Trust, but also for his wonderful paintings of wildfowl. James Fisher, as a broadcaster, writer and resident Editor of the New Naturalists books, bears as much responsibility as anybody for the present popularity of bird-watching as a hobby.
